Wally the Octopus

This deviation is an excellent display of a simple piece of work that, the longer you look at it, the more depth it has. The variations in color along the membrane of the octopus, and the water itself, give the effect of a water-color, while the chosen art style seems to bring the octopus off of the page. The quaint Charlie-Chaplin-esque features, from the hat and mustache even to the over-pronounced eyes, give it a sense of personality that we can already be familiar with. Overall, it is a wonderful piece with simplistic design, yet it still manages to keep focus and entertain.
